These very high security handcuffs are nickel plated with a short chain joining the two handcuffs.  The locks are 'Yale' tumbler type with two positions for removal or entry of the key, the first being the locked position.  Turn the key 45 degrees and the key is in the unlocked position.  When the handcuffs are not being used this is the position to leave the handcuffs so they are ready for instant use.  Turning the key a further 45 degrees releases the handcuff completely.  The quality of these handcuffs is second to none.
