These so called 'Lady' size adjustable darbys are, in fact, very versatile.  At their very smallest adjustment they would, indeed, go small enough to secure a person with a very small wrist but the first and second knotches are easily applied to the wrist of a larger than average prisoner.  Supplied with one working key.
